We are always excited by a new tan on the market and even more so as this little beauty was created by one of our very clever clients! Sunless Solutions is a professional spray tan so you can either book yourself into a salon or be brave and purchase the kit so that anytime you fancy a gorgeous glow you can apply in the comfort of your own home. Our lovely Lindsie was lucky enough to get the kit off her boyfriend Ben for Christmas and she is head over heels with this product! “It is easy peasy to apply, streak free and smells really fruity. My tan lasts for around ten days thanks to the exfoliating polish and wears away without any patches. I think the results speak for themselves!”
This was one of the first ever products made within Benefit on the request of an erotic dancer who wanted pinker nipples! The team at Benefit were more than happy to oblige and designed Benetint which is now one of the most sought after products in the beauty industry.
I love the history and so wanted to love the product but when I put this on my cheeks over my blusher it was a disaster! The tint seems to strip away anything that is already on my skin and the result is patchy and pretty horrible. I imagine that this is incredible if you have great skin and just need a hint of colour to give you a flushed look, so I am excited to take this on holiday with me and try once I have a tan and dare to go out without concealer and bronzer!
I also tried this product on my lips which I adore! Applying this with the small brush feels like someone is tickling you and was the highlight of my day as it left me with tingly lips and a gorgeous natural rose tint which lasted for hours! For this reason alone, Benetint can remain in my make-up bag and I will recommend to friends!
I have to be honest and say that this bronzer does not suit me in the slightest! I have quite odd freckles all over my face and unfortunately this product makes them look like they have all merged together leaving me looking mucky! However, I have heard fantastic reviews and felt unfair writing negatives when I seem to be in the minority, so I got a friend to test instead. Here is what they said;
“Hoola is a classic matte bronzer which looks fabulous on pretty much any skin tone (except Laurie’s!!). It is highly pigmented and works brilliantly when you build it up or want a more natural look. It has a gorgeous bronzed colour and is great at contouring as well as adding warmth. I love the packaging, although the applicator is quite naff and isn’t good enough to compliment such a pricy product. Putting that one teeny tiny niggle to one side, I love Hoola and will definitely splash out for another once this one has gone.”
I love bears; teddy bears, polar bears, grizzly bears, koala bears but my favourite bear of all has to be the panda. Whilst I harbour a real affection for these cuddly creatures I loathe the one thing we share in common; dark circles. I have suffered from these bothersome shadows for as long as I care to remember and have tried all manner of concealers and light reflecting products to disguise them. The concealers I have tried have been either too light to make any difference or too heavy to look natural. The light reflecting products do just what they say on the wand but only make matters worse by highlighting the issue even further. I had all but resigned myself to living with these pesky under eye storm clouds until… the beauty God’s from above enlightened me (literally) with Erase Paste by Benefit. Before I could say Hallelujah, the Benefit Consultant had me perched on a heavenly stool and literally swept my shadows away. This little pot of magic is a thick, glossy concealer and a little certainly goes a long way. It comes with a tiny spatula but I find it works best applied with a flat brush. It glides effortlessly over the skin and it’s thick consistency covers the darkness without settling in the fine lines. It is also great for covering other imperfections such as blemishes or thread veins. It is so effective that it even covered my friends bruises from a sporting injury. Once I have applied the Erase Paste I use another one of Benefits wonder products Eye Bright. This chubby pencil contains an iridescent crayon in a beautiful pearlised pink which when applied over the Erase Paste works beautifully. It is actually designed to be worn in the inner corners of the eyes to make them look fresh and bright which it definitely does so I strongly suggest you apply it there too. So if like me your eyes are being over shadowed, leave the dark circles where they belong on the beautiful pandas and go and see the Benefit!
After a fabulous and glorious and lazy and indulgent Christmas, it is now time to get healthy and start looking after ourselves both inside and out!
As well as embarking on a healthy eating plan and with lots of motivation to get at least 45 minutes of exercise a day, I also want to incorporate a proper beauty regime into my day to day life as I am now 33 and have to admit that I need more help than ever!
My top 5 beauty resolutions that I will absolutely stick to are:
- Buy some beautiful, professional beauty brushes – I have always wanted the whole collection from MAC…. but are there any better brands out there??
- To moisturise my face and neck everyday with a good moisturiser with at least SPF 15. I am using the Body Shop Vitamin E lotion at the moment and it is wonderful!
- To use my Shellac kit that I was given last January and look after my nails more! CND have some amazing new colours right now and there is no excuse for my chipped nails to look this way!
- To share all my new products on https://beautyandthesciencegeeks.wordpress.com and give truthful and honest reviews
- To spend more time pampering myself and not see it as such a chore. I will spend more time in the tub with Molton Brown and Lush and I will preen and prime with as many products that I can get my hands on!
