I am going to be walking around the stalls at Beauty UK on Sunday 21st May!
I am keen to catch up with everyone as humainly possible, whether that be speaking with people who are recruiting new talent for their team, candidates looking for new opportunities or just learning about all of the latest treatments/products in the industry and learning about the current market trends.
Also, if anyone is bringing along some samples I would love to have some to review and write about on our blog!
If you would be open to having a conversation with me to see what LH Consumer Health & Beauty could do for you, please do not hesitate to send me a message on LinkedIn and let’s arrange a time to speak at the show!
I have been waiting to get my hands on a couple of Pixi Beauty products for a while after seeing a lot of bloggers rave about the products, but every time I go to buy them they are always out of stock! But I managed to pick up the Best of Bright Kit from Cult Beauty a few weeks back.
In this kit there is a cleanser, toner and a mud mask.
First of all I used the Glow Mud Cleanser, this product is not like any other cleanser that I have used before! It is not in a liquid form it is quite thick, hence the title Mud Cleanser but I liked it. You have to use this product AM and PM and it helps to purify skin, I have only used it once so I am excited to see how it makes a difference in my skin in a few weeks.
Then it was on to the Glow Tonic, which is used to brighten the skin. I used this after rinsing the cleanser off and because the cleanser was so thick I felt like after using the Glow Tonic that I removed any residue that the cleanser had left behind. It definitely made my skin feel a lot more refreshed. You are supposed to use the Glow Tonic AM and PM as well, so I am looking forward to seeing what benefits it brings in the long run.
Then it was onto the Glow Mud Mask, I am a huge fan of face masks in general, I generally tend to go sheet masks as they are a lot easier to put on and take off. This is the first mud mask that I have tried and I am so glad it is because after 15-20 minutes I took the mask off and I could really tell a difference in my skin, it felt super smooth, pores looked to have been reduced and it also took the redness out of a little bit of heat rash that I had on my jaw line!
What I like about Pixi Beauty is that they do a lot of Travel Size/Tester kits so instead buying a full-size product and maybe wasting it if you don’t get along with the product, you can buy the Best of Bright Kit for £20 and you can test three amazing products!
I will definitely be investing in the full-size products when I run out as well as purchasing some other beauty products from Pixi.
Yesterday was a very exciting day for the Leeds Beauty Market as the brand that are renowned for their amazing, pigmented nail varnish’s that is Models Own have opened their first flagship store outside of London in our hometown of Leeds. It is based in the Trinity Shopping Centre, a key location for shoppers!
As beauty recruiters it would have been a sin not to go and pop down and say ‘Hello’ to the people that we speak with over the phone regularly and put name’s to faces! It was great to finally meet Paul & Leanne who we work very closely with and it was great to understand why they decided to open up in Leeds. It’s like they said Leeds is an up & coming city with a big market, especially with the recent opening of the Victoria Gate at the later end of last year.
The store was looking great and it really bright and vibrant which is what they encourage people to be with their makeup so I like that the theme ties in great!
One thing that I do have to say about the store is that the staff are great, we had a lady personally looking after us and every question we had about products she could answer in a heartbeat, we didn’t catch her name but she had dark hair, was wearing pink eye shadow and had a piercing underneath her lip. She was a great representative for the company.
We wish Models Own all the success in the North & beyond and hope that there are many more openings we can attend and we hope that Kate the Store Manager in Leeds & the team carry on the success that was demonstrated yesterday!
I had my New Year nails done this weekend and decided to ensure I start 2017 off in full Technicolor, style and shimmer. And wow was I impressed with the results!
This picture does not do the finish true justice but check out the Shellac Ecstasy with rainbow holographic powder on top. I absolutely love the psychedelic, rainbow shimmer and will definitely be having this on my feet when I visit Michelle again for one of her superluxe pedi’s at Just For You Treatments at Tock Lock Hair & Beauty Salon next time around!
It seemed so easy to apply and this treatment has certainly brightened up my dreary January already! Thank you Michelle!
You are running really low on perfume and have to use it sparingly!
Despite having a bottle of Charlotte Tilbury’s Scent of a Dream I am saving that for when I have run out of them all – as living with a teenage sister and a sprayaholic mum my perfume seems to go nowhere fast!
My favourite out of all the perfumes shown (in the picture below) is Trish McEvoy Sexy 9, it has a really fruity, musky smell that lasts all day and I believe with perfume the more you pay the less you spray and that is because the products used are more organic and a lot more expensive compared to fragrances that are produced in the mass market as they tend to use a lot of synthesised ingredients so it doesn’t give you the longevity compared to fragrances with organic and more pure ingredients.
My all time favourite is the original Alien by Thierry Mugler which has such a strong smell and I usually wear it on nights out as you hardly ever have to spray more on and you can smell it for days afterwards even after a shower.
The top three fragrances that I would like this year are:
- Narciso Rodriguez For Her Eau de Parfum
- Dior Absolutely Blooming
- Yves Saint Laurent, Supreme Bouquet (The bottles of this perfume range from £175-195 so I think there’s a slim chance of this happening!)
I am always eager to find new perfumes that I love so I am wanting to know what fragrances are on everybody’s Christmas list?!
I’m always on the lookout for new fragrances I haven’t tried before!
First of all, I would like to apologise for the lack of posting recently! I literally cannot tell you how many exciting posts I have in my head at the moment I can’t wait to share them with you all!
This post is about the acrylic makeup holders that have took over the world in 2016 and I am guilty! The only thing I have OCD about is about how my makeup looks in its organiser!
As you can see my lipsticks are categorised by brands so I have 24 MAC Lipsticks and 6 Charlotte Tilbury’s (obviously I am planning to expand this). Then, I have all my straggler lipsticks/glosses in a draw.
I am literally running out of space very fast to find places to put my makeup! Every draw in the organiser as at least 1 thing in it and all of the larger draws are fully occupied.
I need to find a trendy way to store all of my palettes too! If any one has any ideas then please let me know!
I received this product in a Glossy box & I have been waiting for the right time to use it as I very rarely paint my nails despite having 100’s of nail varnishes!
I didn’t manage to get in to have my nails shellac’d before Halloween so I thought I’d give painting them a whirl and test out this product.
As a base coat I used Barry M’s Iron Mani, it is a base coat and a nail strengthener all in one – my nails aren’t very strong so this is a life saver for me.
As my main colour I used Barry M Gelly High Shine Nail paint in Black Currant, I picked this up thinking it was black but it is a really dark purple but you can only tell in certain lights. An amazing thing about this product is you only need one coat! They’re £3.99 a polish, but you can usually pick them up on a 3 for 2 offer in Boots or Superdrug etc.
Then I used the revlon Revlon Gel Envy Top Coat and I can honestly say everyone thought I had Gel on my nails, it made them look really thick and shiny! I’m definitely going to start painting my nails more often and using this product. As mentioned I got this product in a Glossybox but you can pick them up for around £7.99 well worth the money!
The only thing I cannot comment on is how long they lasted as I am a serious nail polish picker, hence why I usually have gels or acrylics on so that I cannot pick them off! But from another couple of reviews I’ve read is the product can help maintain Nail Colour for 1-2 weeks which is pretty much how long some gels that are done professionally last!
So, today is October 31st a day that is becoming more popular year by year. It is also a great time for Makeup Artists to be as creative as they possibly can without explaining to anyone why they have diamantes on their eyelashes or why they have used blue eyeshadow as blusher etc!
This year I decided not to take any bookings and have my makeup done for me for a nice change.
I decided to book in at Illamasqua in Leeds Victoria Quarter as I was attending a Halloween event on Saturday night. I went dressed as a vampire so I wanted something really dramatic and a little bit gothy too. Illamasqua were advertising a look called ‘The Damned’ with red lips and black & red smokey eyes so as soon as I saw it I knew that’s what I needed my makeup to look like.
I had my makeup done by a lady named ‘B’, she was running a little bit over with a client but was very apologetic and still took her time with my makeup throughout the appointment making sure that everything was perfect. She was very professional and a great representative for Illamasqua!
This was the first time I had had an insight to Illamasqua’s range of products and I think I now have a shopping bag saved in my head with at least £300 worth of products that I need to get from there. I will definitely book to have my makeup done there again and recommend it to anyone!
I will be writing a review on the products that I redeemed back very soon!
I have never bought anything from GOSH so when this was in Septembers glossy box I was really keen to try it!
As I’ve mentioned in a previous post – I have never suited pink lipstick and I don’t really have a big collection of pink lipsticks so when I was a little bit disappointed that it wasn’t red or a dark purple colour!
But hey ho, what I really like about this product is that it actually true to its name – a marker! It’s got a very fine tip so it is really precise with the application.
I wouldn’t necessarily use this product on a night out as it’s quite as pigmented as a lipstick, however I definitely would use it during the day as it is quick and easy to apply, won’t take up too much space on your handbag and it also has quite a nice smell to it! It also dries very quickly and doesn’t feel thick or sticky on your lips like some lipsticks/glosses.
