Lucky Feet

My two-year-old daughter came home from nursery one evening to tell me that her best friend Ruby had pink toe nails and that she would “like purple ones just like Ruby’s please Mummy”. I thought she would swiftly forget about this, yet every time I changed my nail colour she reminded me that “we haven’t done my nails yet mummy”!! Part of my reluctance has been firstly her age and secondly the fact that I didn’t want to use products that could be too harsh, or have an adverse effect on her perfect tiny feet, so I put it off and off… Yet her persistence and love of purple continued. As luck would have it, we attended Margaret Dabb’s Press Launch at her luxury clinic in Harrogate last week.

Not only did I get to experience first-hand the luxury hand and foot treatments on offer by Margaret’s expert in-clinic Podiatrist Jane and Spa Therapist Shanice, the beautiful clinic also contains retail space, which showcases Margaret’s fabulous Hand & Foot care product range for customers to browse and buy. Margaret was there herself and I explained to her my daughters love of purple and beauty at such a young age. Margaret assured me that she had formulated everything herself and not only did she have the perfect purple in Heather for my daughter, the nail varnishes she has personally developed are actual nail treatments themselves.

The nail polishes promote nail health and vitality; vitamin E has been included to strengthen and protect the nails and wild rose botanical extract helps to revitalise and prevent any infection, whilst leaving a beautiful scent of wild roses on the nails. Understanding all this direct from Margaret herself, I felt confident in purchasing Margaret’s polish for my daughter’s first foray into having the perfectly polished purple tootsies.

I explained to my daughter whilst she sat statue still waiting for the polish to dry that the Heather flower is a symbol of good luck. She was super excited to have lucky feet and scented purple toes to show Ruby as she skipped into nursery this morning after the Bank Holiday. Her wide smile at having the perfectly polished toes was delightful for a mummy to see as well as feeling safe in the knowledge that I was being a good mummy – using a product formulated by a true expert and professional podiatrist, passionate about feet in Margaret Dabbs. At £14.00 a bottle and a lovely range of colours beautifully packaged, this is the perfect present or treat for yourself or even better still, little people’s lucky feet!

Pixi Beauty – Best of Bright Kit

I have been waiting to get my hands on a couple of Pixi Beauty products for a while after seeing a lot of bloggers rave about the products, but every time I go to buy them they are always out of stock! But I managed to pick up the Best of Bright Kit from Cult Beauty a few weeks back.

In this kit there is a cleanser, toner and a mud mask.

First of all I used the Glow Mud Cleanser, this product is not like any other cleanser that I have used before! It is not in a liquid form it is quite thick, hence the title Mud Cleanser but I liked it. You have to use this product AM and PM and it helps to purify skin, I have only used it once so I am excited to see how it makes a difference in my skin in a few weeks.

Then it was on to the Glow Tonic,  which is used to brighten the skin. I used this after rinsing the cleanser off and because the cleanser was so thick I felt like after using the Glow Tonic that I removed any residue that the cleanser had left behind. It definitely made my skin feel a lot more refreshed. You are supposed to use the Glow Tonic AM and PM as well, so I am looking forward to seeing what benefits it brings in the long run.

Then it was onto the Glow Mud Mask, I am a huge fan of face masks in general, I generally tend to go sheet masks as they are a lot easier to put on and take off. This is the first mud mask that I have tried and I am so glad it is because after 15-20 minutes I took the mask off and I could really tell a difference in my skin, it felt super smooth, pores looked to have been reduced and it also took the redness out of a little bit of heat rash that I had on my jaw line!

What I like about Pixi Beauty is that they do a lot of Travel Size/Tester kits so instead buying a full-size product and maybe wasting it if you don’t get along with the product, you can buy the Best of Bright Kit for £20 and you can test three amazing products!

I will definitely be investing in the full-size products when I run out as well as purchasing some other beauty products from Pixi.

Models Own Leeds Launch!

Yesterday was a very exciting day for the Leeds Beauty Market as the brand that are renowned for their amazing, pigmented nail varnish’s that is Models Own have opened their first flagship store outside of London in our hometown of Leeds. It is based in the Trinity Shopping Centre, a key location for shoppers!

As beauty recruiters it would have been a sin not to go and pop down and say ‘Hello’ to the people that we speak with over the phone regularly and put name’s to faces! It was great to finally meet Paul & Leanne who we work very closely with and it was great to understand why they decided to open up in Leeds. It’s like they said Leeds is an up & coming city with a big market, especially with the recent opening of the Victoria Gate at the later end of last year.

The store was looking great and it really bright and vibrant which is what they encourage people to be with their makeup so I like that the theme ties in great!

One thing that I do have to say about the store is that the staff are great, we had a lady personally looking after us and every question we had about products she could answer in a heartbeat, we didn’t catch her name but she had dark hair, was wearing pink eye shadow and had a piercing underneath her lip. She was a great representative for the company.

We wish Models Own all the success in the North & beyond and hope that there are many more openings we can attend and we hope that Kate the Store Manager in Leeds & the team carry on the success that was demonstrated yesterday!

Giving my January a bit more Sparkle!

I had my New Year nails done this weekend and decided to ensure I start 2017 off in full Technicolor, style and shimmer. And wow was I impressed with the results!

This picture does not do the finish true justice but check out the Shellac Ecstasy with rainbow holographic powder on top. I absolutely love the psychedelic, rainbow shimmer and will definitely be having this on my feet when I visit Michelle again for one of her superluxe pedi’s at Just For You Treatments at Tock Lock Hair & Beauty Salon next time around!

It seemed so easy to apply and this treatment has certainly brightened up my dreary January already! Thank you Michelle!

You know it’s nearly Christmas when…

You are running really low on perfume and have to use it sparingly!

Despite having a bottle of Charlotte Tilbury’s Scent of a Dream I am saving that for when I have run out of them all – as living with a teenage sister and a sprayaholic mum my perfume seems to go nowhere fast!

My favourite out of all the perfumes shown (in the picture below) is Trish McEvoy Sexy 9, it has a really fruity, musky smell that lasts all day and I believe with perfume the more you pay the less you spray and that is because the products used are more organic and a lot more expensive compared to fragrances that are produced in the mass market as they tend to use a lot of synthesised ingredients so it doesn’t give you the longevity compared to fragrances with organic and more pure ingredients.

My all time favourite is the original Alien by Thierry Mugler which has such a strong smell and I usually wear it on nights out as you hardly ever have to spray more on and you can smell it for days afterwards even after a shower.

The top three fragrances that I would like this year are:

  • Narciso Rodriguez For Her Eau de Parfum
  • Dior Absolutely Blooming
  • Yves Saint Laurent, Supreme Bouquet (The bottles of this perfume range from £175-195 so I think there’s a slim chance of this happening!)

I am always eager to find new perfumes that I love so I am wanting to know what fragrances are on everybody’s Christmas list?!

I’m always on the lookout for new fragrances I haven’t tried before!

Help! My makeup OCD is getting out of hand!

First of all, I would like to apologise for the lack of posting recently! I literally cannot tell you how many exciting posts I have in my head at the moment I can’t wait to share them with you all!

This post is about the acrylic makeup holders that have took over the world in 2016 and I am guilty! The only thing I have OCD about is about how my makeup looks in its organiser!

As you can see my lipsticks are categorised by brands so I have 24 MAC Lipsticks and 6 Charlotte Tilbury’s (obviously I am planning to expand this). Then, I have all my straggler lipsticks/glosses in a draw.

I am literally running out of space very fast to find places to put my makeup! Every draw in the organiser as at least 1 thing in it and all of the larger draws are fully occupied.

I need to find a trendy way to store all of my palettes too! If any one has any ideas then please let me know!
